As I've spent countless hours looking for higher quality cameras than my previous configuration (the Ring), these are the ones that caught my attention the most. In general, the installation process is quite simple, but it can take some time depending on how you want to mount the cables. For me I had to go to the attic which was the only bulky part of it. All you need is a PoE switch and some Ethernet cables. I would recommend buying the unplugged cable (R45) that comes with the kit. Otherwise you'll have to drill 1/2" holes in whatever you want to run the cable through. This was my first experience with wired cameras and they were amazing. The compromise with a much higher image quality pays off, although it takes a little longer to install. With Wi-Fi cameras, installation is easy, but there are many more issues with connectivity, resolution, and paid cloud storage. With these Reolinks, all you really need is an SD card and a Poe switch. The SD card allows you to delete, save and transfer files via your computer or phone (FREE). The only downside I noticed is a camera. The small ball joint that allows you to maneuver the camera has broken off a piece of the bushing. I contact Reolink and they should send me a replacement. Most importantly, don't miss these cameras. At 2K resolution, that's all you really need. Excellent night vision!
