Great camera, crappy screws

Reolink has not yet entered the crowd of color night vision devices, so a start is lost. The mounting screws that come with the camera are made of very poor quality metal and are very easy to remove with a Phillips head using a cordless screwdriver. I've torqued screws many times and found that most others, including El Cheapo drywall screws, are much more reliable when it comes to metal durability. hold the camera; Remove fastening screws. At $50 per camera, I don't expect direct support like…

Excellent image quality and build quality

I don't know where to start but overall I'm impressed with these cameras. Platforms with lots of settings from motion settings to white balance etc. Cons: Confusing sensitivity settings, had to reference the article to determine my settings. Night vision has a "Casper" effect that blurs a person's face with built-in IR. This is solved with LIFX+ lamps. Does not include POE injectors. Overall setup was straightforward and formatting the SD card was straightforward. I would recommend purchasing…

Best Value Video Surveillance

As I've spent countless hours looking for higher quality cameras than my previous configuration (the Ring), these are the ones that caught my attention the most. In general, the installation process is quite simple, but it can take some time depending on how you want to mount the cables. For me I had to go to the attic which was the only bulky part of it. All you need is a PoE switch and some Ethernet cables. I would recommend buying the unplugged cable (R45) that comes with the kit. Otherwise…

Reolink is still the best price

How IP camera prices have come down in recent years. I remember back then buying 720p IP cameras for over $150 and now we have a Reolink 5MP (just over 2K resolution) for $50. Insanity! Don't hesitate to buy this excellent camera. I connected 2 of these and 5 previous 4MP versions to a Synology NAS running Surveillance Station and the results are just perfect. 2K resolution at 30 fps omnidirectional, crisp and accurate daytime shots, and decent night IR (even better with an IR blaster, like…

Poor quality camera that fails miserably with Blue Iris

I bought a set of two RLC-410-5MP at the same time with SV3C SV-B06POE-1080P-A, similar, much cheaper bullet camera. I'd like to buy more SV3Cs instead. The Reolink RLC-410-5MP is a miserable failure as a security camera when paired with the market-leading Blue Iris camera software. The camera signal is constantly being lost, resulting in clipping or no recording. It's just unreliable, and an unreliable security camera is a mistake. For this reason alone I advise against buying it. Reolinks…

Quality monitoring, some ecosystem issues

After my truck was stolen right out of my driveway with no evidence, I decided I needed a comprehensive monitoring system to protect my property. I did a lot of research and decided on Reolink. It seemed to me that this was a good turnkey system to build on later. I've been using my nine camera system for over two years now and for the most part I'm happy with it. Here are the highlights. I have a 16 channel DVR. While it's extremely underpowered for watching videos, it gets the job done. I…
