I bought two of these: a pink 16 inch bike for my daughter who turns 5 next week. I didn't take her measurements but she is now a size 5/6 in tops and pants for size comparison. The bike is great with training wheels, but without them it's still too big for her. If I knew what I know now, I would have bought it a size smaller to start with. For now, she can ride it with training wheels to get used to it, and we're just going to leave her much smaller bike until she's made the full transition. Blue 18 inch bike for my 7.5 year old son - Again no measurements but size 7/8 for comparison. This bike is just right for growth. It would have been too big for him last fall. Size aside, here's what I think: it's a great bike! It's beautiful and durable and I love the look of it. (especially the fact that pink still looks girly but has BLACK tires instead of the damn white tires that most girls bikes have) We live on a farm so there are no sidewalks. Only dirt, gravel and grass to drive. These bikes are ideal for rough terrain. My kids love that the bikes come with a water bottle. slightly softer black seat - like a normal bicycle seat. None of the children mentioned that they particularly liked or disliked their place. Both bikes have brakes which is nice although my daughter is still getting used to them - they are a bit big for her little hands. I would recommend mastering this before going downhill. One last thing - the assembly was pretty easy - they were basically already assembled. It took about 15 minutes per bike (brushing speed) to get everything working. One bike came with tires ready to ride and another bike needed to be pumped up before riding. Overall these have been great bikes so far and I am very happy with the purchase!
