Review on πŸ” 3M No-Slip Advanced Sandpaper 11 Inches – Enhanced Grip for Precise Sanding by Aaron Kindler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great paper but fragile with one caveat

If you intend to use this sandpaper to sharpen steel, chisels, knives, planes etc. be careful. I've only noticed this with 3M 220 grit sandpaper, but it tends to curl, almost like thick lines of glue running the length of the paper. This is most noticeable when using a little grinding liquid or moisture when the blade is placed/taped to a flat surface such as glass or granite when sharpening steel. I haven't noticed this with any other grit I've used from 3M, only 220 grit. Depending on which way you put the sandpaper, the blades will have a rounded edge when sharpened over the shaft, or wavy, when they are sharpened in the same plane. They're hard to spot just looking at paper, but it will drive you crazy trying to figure out why sharpening only dulls your blades. Otherwise, 3M paper is generally a good choice due to its strength and durability.
