Review on CKLau 4Kx2K@60Hz 2 Port HDMI + Displayport Dual Monitor KVM Switch With Audio by Andrew Gomez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Port A lasted 5 minutes

UPDATE: Replacement arrived in 2 days (thanks AMAZON!) and works great. This is exactly the product I was looking for and [now] it exceeds my expectations. The luck of the draw is that the first one I got was bad. I'm delighted now - so happy I'm upgrading from 1 to 4 stars! I was so excited to find this. I work from home and have 2 monitors connected to my home computer - 1 DVI and 1 VGA. But I have a laptop/dock for work. 9 years ago I bought a VGA KVM switch that allowed me to use at least one of my large monitors with my laptop display and work that way. I finally decided that I needed to use two large monitors for my work, so I needed a 2-port KVM with DVA and VGA. It looked like a ticket! I received it 2 days later (thanks Revane!) and had it connected within 30 minutes of delivery. It worked GREAT and did what I needed - the LEDs on the front of the KVM indicated which computer I was looking at. I've switched computers several times, but the last time the keyboard and mouse on port A of the computer didn't reconnect (but both displays switched). I have noticed that, Port 1 LED on the front of the KVM is no longer lit. I switched back to port A and everything was fine, switched back and the keyboard/mouse is still missing. I connected a spare keyboard and mouse directly to the computer and they were recognized and worked fine. I've powered off and unplugged both computers and KVM and even unplugged and plugged back in all cables on both ends including USB. The computer rebooted to port A and reported no keyboard attached, but both monitors showed up fine. Port A LED is still off. I turned on the computer using port B, the LED was on and everything worked fine. I turned the power back off and swapped the VGA and DVI cables on the back of the KVM (computer with port A is now connected to port B and vice versa) and turned the power back on. However, port A is down, but port B is fine. I am very disappointed but have requested a replacement unit. Hope it was the first time and the new one works perfectly. Other comments: I wish the included cables were longer. They are only about 3 feet long which is barely enough to reach them. Also, the power cord is very short at 4 feet. None of the cables are taut or taut, but a bit of service loop would be nice. Update: I found a workaround. If I unplug the keyboard and mouse from the back and plug them into the USB port on the front (my keyboard also has a hub, so i connected the mouse to the keyboard and then the keyboard to the front) it works for both computers ! So the fault appears to be between the rear keyboard/mouse USB ports and port A. Port A (and port B) on the front USB works fine.
