Wippette Boys Raincoat (Jr. Firefighter/Red)

Great little raincoat at a really amazing price. I liked that the Firefighter Jr. badge is a sewn-on patch rather than a printed graphic like a flashlight. The color was real, red from a fire truck. It smelled like a shower curtain when I first got it, but a quick wipe down with warm water and dish soap on the outside got rid of any lingering smell. The lining is a bit thin but I bought this raincoat for $15 so I'm glad it's lined at all. , the shots seem tough. The raincoat is a decent length (above the waist but not to the knee) and fits well for its size (I bought a size 7 for my son who wears a size 5/6 and is 90% tall). The coat itself isn't too thick for spring, but I bought it a size up so there's enough room to throw on a sweater or sweatshirt for those rainy November walks around Chicagoland. There are two outside pockets, each one fastened with a button, and in the right lower flap of the coat there is a nifty place to write your child's name for kindergarten or school. The hood is the only thing I want to change. If it had a duckbill hood like my oldest son's cloak I would give it five stars. Maybe my baby just has a big head, but it doesn't have an overhanging cover and it's more like a regular zip-up hoodie. Instead, I'll make sure my little one wears a baseball cap so his forehead doesn't get wet. All in all I can only recommend it for the price!
