I have a small wiring project (<10 connections). I read all the negative reviews and checked my new crimping tool for reported defects as soon as I received it. Problem 1, Crimp die does not match pins in connector - incorrect. Works perfectly. Problem 2: There is no instruction included. That's why we have Google. Also, a comment I read referred to a wire stripper. (Dude if you can't figure it out without instructions, stay away from tools entirely.) Problem 3: Can't figure out which battery to install - 2 "AAA" cells. Doh! The only things that fit. Problem 4, the tester does not work - mine has no problems. I plugged in a known good cable and the lights went from 1 to 8 as nicely as you like. I have a question. The tester has on, off, and S positions. I didn't know what S was, so I chose it. The scanning speed has slowed down. S = slow. Pretty elegant. All in all a very economical tool set for infrequent use. If I were a cable installer I would probably prefer a better tool, but for my use (and budget) it was perfect.
