I'm not very knowledgeable about styling tools and was pretty intimidated by most curlers and wands, but I decided to give this one a try. Love the way it was wrapped, great gift. The attachments are very easy to change and with 6 heads there are a whole range of styling options compared to buying a regular curling iron making it a great value. This one gets really hot! Gets warm quickly and rolls up very quickly. That being said, I've found that my fine hair gets burned fairly easily. As I said, I didn't really know what I was doing as this was my first curling iron so even on the lowest setting it was way too hot. Unfortunately it only has two heat settings, hot and very hot, so I won't be able to use it until I get a little more practice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars other than that it's a great set. Some initial out-of-the-box testing made me realize that a temperature-controlled hair dryer would be better for my sensitive hair. If you have thicker hair or are used to working with these hot styling tools, you should have no problem using them. If you have very fine hair like I do, use it sparingly. Otherwise, it heats up quickly and only takes 3 seconds (or less) to create stable curls. Really great product, it just doesn't suit me that well but perfect for those who have more experience or are professional stylists.
