It really works. I think cats love sand. I had no problem getting my two cats to use the sand. I placed it in an 8x10 rectangular baking dish. I soon had the goods. I don't think the sand needs to be very deep. Sand does not absorb moisture at all, and urine accumulates at the top. The included pipette makes it easy to suck up some of the urine and comes with a stopper. Then just throw some toilet paper on the piss in the sand and throw everything in the garden or put it in the garbage. I was really excited that it worked so easily, so well.
