Used as a canopy and rain shelter on the back porch. During the first feed, the material began to loosen from the eyelets and holes formed. He spent a month under a mahogany canopy (which limited direct sunlight) before the first rains came. The rain drains well but there was an area where the water pooled before it built up enough to drain. At this point, water began to seep and drip under it after just a few hours. If you can't fit that into an A-frame, there's nothing on this tarp to keep water out, and the grommets are a joke. After filing the first day I told a friend that I would be lucky if it lasted all season (all winter) but apparently it wouldn't survive the first rainy day. a tent or something to temporarily keep water or dust out will work. But I wouldn't try to protect something for more than a day in wet weather if you can't cock it in the A-frame, and even if you do the bushings start to crack. I've had two other blue tarps for decades that I think I bought at drug stores, have been on many hikes and camping trips, covered things in the back of a truck, and have been used for entire seasons to cover things in the backyard and still stay strong. No grommet damage, no tears, no leaks and tons of storms. They're both thicker than these, so I wouldn't trust any of those 5mm tarps more than a rag. I have already ordered another brand of 10 mil.
