I fell in love with this artist's work! And very glad I bought it. My completed project is an autumnal "wreath" for the front door. YARN: This set is made from fine (4 ply?) very soft acrylic yarn and it is very pretty when the colors are knitted separately. I kept a pair of scissors ready to cut off the many crumpled long pieces. I've found that with kits you want to make sure you have enough yarn to finish before throwing anything. And as is so often the case, there was no white color on the fox's poll, tail, or jawline. Luckily I still have enough 6ply yarn in the perfect cream color from the finished kit. Many other colors were supplied to complete, an unused black and brown and two unused yellow bundles for the moon. My gear was filled to the brim with yarn, and it's a shame the design team didn't swap out a few extra packs for white ones. (But I like the off-white color and I'm glad it's not white.) HOOK: The included hook is perfect for this simple yard and the hook is very light - easy to hold ;-) Also, I was very surprised by the Durability "cheaper" hook. I'm working on my third project with him. When using 6 strand yarn I had to switch to my standard snap hook. DESIGN: This has a pattern printed on canvas, but I followed the picture with a counted snap hook as there is a lot of color variation and I wanted to make sure my fox and leaves looked like the real thing. Recommended for experienced craftsmen. LINING: The lining is attached with grosgrain ribbon and rolled up. It is thin and may detach from the canvas. This project had no problems, but my current project got disconnected. I love having a backing after completing a project, but when I'm working I miss not being able to see the backing to quickly check that the yarn is in the right place. The back has grommets to prevent slipping but there was no "sticky" grip - not a problem for hanging but it does slip when used on the floor. Enjoy! This is a beautiful project.
