I was trying to get sparks from one of the several coils I used when rebuilding an old motor. OEM parts are either too expensive or not available. I thought this article would be useful and others have had good luck with it. It worked when I first used it. The alligator clip to connect to the plug is thin and cannot clamp the plug. I've used it several times today and couldn't detect any spark. I connected the spark plug, grounded the base and tested the spark the old fashioned way. He showed that the device does not come with instructions, but that's not a problem. The little vinyl cover that covered the end of the clip looked more like shrink wrap and was useless. Didn't bother trying the 2nd. It's easier to do it the old way.
