I ordered this because I have been doing ballet and modern dance for many years and have injured my knees. In both cases I have very severe arthrosis. I was recently told that I have an extreme vitamin D deficiency, which means I'm struggling with extreme inflammation and aching joints all over my body and a lack of energy. I gained weight and even trying to wash the dishes caused me such pain. Sometimes my knee gave out. There are only two of us and we have a dishwasher. I'm not even 50, so I decided to try a knee brace. I put it on the worst possible knee and was able to take my Christmas lights off on my own from the outside! I climbed the ladder and went down with no problem. In one day it was a huge improvement. I just ordered one for my other knee. I measured my hips above the knee and it's about 22 inches. God I'm huge. But in any case, the XL size fits perfectly and so far hasn't irritated my epically sensitive lily white Irish skin. I think tomorrow my husband and I are going hiking! I can actually walk with these knee pads and compression stockings! I'm excited! Spring cleaning and a toned body come to me! I hope. It's also nice to be able to stand up without wanting to curse pain like a sailor.
