Save money, firewood in two years

Like many others, I bought this board after seeing a great review on America's Test Kitchen. However, like many of their product reviews, I think the problem is that they don't live with the products on a day-to-day basis for an extended period of time. This cutting board will work fine for a while, but over time it will fall apart and become unusable (and dangerous). Bought mine in May 2012. I strictly followed the care instructions: wiped with a damp sponge after use, regularly oiled the cutting block. oil and never leave wet. However, after 20 months, the board developed a crack about 6 inches long that started at one end. It's now a great place to hide and breed bacteria and germs. As a result, when cutting, the board tends to rotate on the countertop, which isn't the safest method when trying to cut veggies with a sharp knife. like 12 months). I figured with their website description of the board as "famous for its strength and durability" and "the last cutting board you'll ever need" they were supporting their product and getting it covered. Emails were completely ignored. I would recommend saving money and just getting a cheap chopping board as those will end up in the trash (or wood stove in my case) anyway.
