I bought these for use in a 10 gallon aquarium. The part is big enough to hold me for a long time. I can cut out some pieces. Simply cut to size. Easy to clean. Yes, the size is very large for a 10 gallon aquarium. But the husband constantly overfeeds. Because of my disability, it takes me many hours to clean the aquarium. I was hoping it would help me last longer between cleanses. It doesn't work like I thought it would. Right now I don't think it performs any better than the filter media I've used before. When I flush, I don't see as much trapped dirt as with other filter media I've used, which really surprises me. The product doesn't work, maybe it's me. There may be times when this product cannot be used for what I need.
