Advice on assembly and details of performance

We shopped for months before choosing barstools for our new home. We wanted stools that were unobtrusive enough to not crowd the room but substantial enough to support a large adult. We wanted stools that wouldn't tip easily, swiveled so that they'd be easy for kids to get on without moving, and would match our cherry wood furniture and dark floors. These suit all of those criteria. We were a little surprised that the "brandy" color had dark (almost black) edges to the cherry wood, but it works well in our home. The seat material is ok, but no one will mistake it for leather. We had little trouble putting them together because we developed a system: attach two legs to seat without tightening screws, place footrest ring on those with hand-tight screws. Put on other two legs with hand-tight screws. Go back and retighten everything. It helps if you have an Allen wrench bit for your screw driver.

Pros
  • The Magellan 29" design is stylish and modern, yet classic enough to be enjoyed for years to come
Cons
  • The stool's swivel feature is too stiff
