I needed a very low profile mount that would fit over my ceiling fan. It worked well. However, people need to understand how a "shouldered" center bolt works. a few turns up and down the larger diameter threads on the center screw WITHOUT turning the center screw. The shoulder between the two thread sizes should fit snugly against the extruded aluminum post (hence the Loctite). For my particular setup, I had to drill a hole to get close enough to my projector's center of gravity. I also used some of the 0.25" washers I had to align the mounting flange with. Also make sure you measure and understand the maximum depth the projector will allow for installing mounting screws. Washers to go underneath to stay. As there is only one retaining ring to control all 6 degrees of freedom it takes a few tries to lock it in place and still aim properly. Still a good product for the price. If you have less height restrictions then mine, a model with more customization options might be easier to work with.
