Review on Dorman CM640015 Clutch Master Cylinder by John Butler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Saved me a lot of money, great for a 2004 Ford Foucs ZX3.

It took me a while to find out I had a leaking master cylinder, first I noticed I was low on brake fluid, then after a few weeks my clutch pedal became slippery. After speaking and looking under the dash I saw the problem, I needed a new master cylinder. It's not that hard, you just need patients and it helps to remove the driver's seat. After removing the lower torpedo (4 screws), and then three clutch and brake gas sensors. You're pretty much right there, you need to pull the lines and make sure you have enough fluid in the reservoir so you don't have to bleed the brakes. Make sure you buy lots of brake fluid as the clutch will take a while to bleed and lots of fluid if you don't have a pressure bleeder. Overall it took about 2 hours and works great for my car. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to replace them and isn't afraid of getting their hands or the brake fluid a little dirty.
