Good value for money - could be improved

I received this recorder a few days ago and would like to use it to monitor indoor and outdoor temperatures simultaneously. After some software installation errors (the USB cable I used didn't work, the one that came with the product worked fine), I'm ready to go and it looks like it's working fine. Overall I'd say it's pretty darn good value for money. A few notes and some improvements that might make it stand out: 1) I agree with others that the documentation (in English) is difficult to read. It appears to be complete, so simply editing the copy will make it look much better. 2) Installing software on a Mac is difficult. If you're used to security workarounds for installing self-downloaded software, then that's fine, but the documentation here could be greatly improved or distributed through the Apple Store to make installation easier. 3) MacOS software works but looks a little rough. . On my Macbook, some windows are wider than my screen and cannot be resized. It can also provide additional diagnostics, e.g. B. which drivers were successfully installed (see above). Also, the export feature only offers PDF, Excel, and AELT (whatever that is). For developers and data scientists it would be great if it supported open formats like CSV, JSON or maybe XML.4) One important caveat is that while GPS-6 supports two sensors (one for temperature and humidity, the other for temperature only) . , the setting does not allow to record all 3 at the same time. That is, you can capture T+H (from the same probe), T+H (from separate probes), or T+T (from separate probes), but not T+T+H.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors
