The copper block is painted with copper, not copper pipe.
I think my disappointment is my own fault. I thought the center tube was copper, instead it's a copper colored steel tube. Not the look I was hoping for and during assembly of the unit (twisting a bit) the cap on the tube twisted a bit and the paint cracked. If you have a roll of paper towels on the device, it looks good.
