Wrong size, tears and damage in random places

I don't know who these pants are the right size for. Waist too small for my rather skinny 5 year old but leg length for a huge child. As a result, these pants hang over my son's body in a weird way, pinching him in random places. We used them once for a hike and my son complained a lot about his pants hurting. These were literally disposable pants and next time I will buy Columbia hiking pants.
