Based on the pictures I thought it would feel a bit more solid, maybe stamped metal or something. Turns out it's just cheap plastic. This is entirely my fault for not reading the fine print, but considering it's almost $20 I was expecting a bit more. I have no doubt it will do the job but I think it could be of higher quality given the price. So you have to remove the case first. Annoying and makes it a little less secure because deep down you'll worry about it falling out and breaking the screen, but the clips feel strong enough that it's more of an annoyance than a deal breaker. .
