Review on 🍷 Capabunga Corkscrew & Bottle Opener - Effortlessly Open Wine Bottles with Style, in Grey by Florencia Fernandez

Is working. (Updated - full metal version does not work)

This opener actually consists of two parts - a medium sized metal corkscrew (with matching lever, screw and foil cutter) and a silicone handle. . Theoretically they are glued, but this glue was enough for one application. Overall, this is still a very good corkscrew. The screw is Teflon coated which my local sommelier says is a big deal, the rest of the corkscrew body is decently made rather than just stamped metal and the handle still works despite being removable. The lever also has a built in bottle opener and also benefits from a soft grip. I'm giving this one star for the crappy glue. It would be better to just do without it altogether. 4.5 stars. However, it is recommended. UPDATE: I now have a fully galvanized stainless steel corkscrew. I do not recommend this. The "best" corkscrew has a sturdy metal handle and comes in a beautiful gift box. It doesn't pull any plugs. The problem is the small horizontal spike that rests on the neck of the bottle and provides leverage. In the cheaper version with the silicone grip, the metal is folded in thicker, which gives you a nice, stable grip. In the case of the all-metal version, the case itself is thicker, thanks to which this part does not bend. Next, the corner is rounded. It looks nicer, but it doesn't work mechanically. If you drive the screw right into the center of the cork and hold the corkscrew firmly by the neck of the bottle with your other hand, you can force the metal corkscrew to push the cork out. . I'm not thrilled.

Pros
  • Corkscrew and Opener
Cons
  • Long Lead Time
