Review on Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 215/60 R17 96 winter by Adam Kaniuk ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I did not regret the purchase, everything is fine.

Tuareg 3.0tdi car, wheels 255/55/18 T. Prior to that, I drove 6 winters on Pirelli ice&snow and was quite pleased until they wore out. Before that, I always chose high-speed winter tires and it always suited me and did not let me down. Friction (Velcro) is not very suitable for this style of driving, and in general I don’t really understand their merits. Therefore, studs could become an alternative, especially for affordable Pirelli they come with the H index. Of the alternative options for the price, there were only Koreans, bridgestone or again pirelli. Pirelli did not take because. I considered this model ice&snow already a bit old (they have been making them for 7 years), perhaps unreasonably, and the studding was about 4 thousand more expensive per set. The Koreans did not particularly shine in the available test reviews, although acquaintances gave good reviews. Decided to pay attention to the novelty of the bridge. I read a comparative test of the bridge with the Nokia R2, collected the opinions of my friends about the dm-v1, and eventually decided to try the dm-v2 bridge. The choice was made based on the price, country of production and the declared characteristics. Judging by the first 1000 km v2 is closer to the usual winter than Velcro. I am waiting for normal snow and ice to appreciate the main winter properties. As long as the tires suit.

Pros
  • made in Japan, reasonable price, balance of characteristics
Cons
  • increased fuel consumption to approximately 0.5l / 100km, became worse rolling, noise from tires is noticeable at speeds after 110-120 km / h (dry / wet asphalt)
