The great thing about these scissors is that they have a very comfortable grip. I like it, unfortunately it's the only thing I like about them. The smallest scissors (with a thumb loop) I thought I could use to cut the yarn didn't work; Sorry for the pun. They definitely work with sewing thread, which is very strange because I felt it should work with thread. I would give this set 5 stars but the scissors I really needed for crocheting didn't work. So instead I have to use another small pair of scissors with a thumb loop handle and use a large eraser to attach the tip so it doesn't show through my craft bag. If it wasn't for that I would have given 5 stars. Trust me the scissors are a great buy and everything about them is great except I just can't give them 5 stars for the reason above.
