I bought this gauge so I can check the evacuation status of the roof unit while still on the ground using the colored indicators on the display. This is NOT a precision instrument. , and all readings change based on battery usage. This thing ALWAYS needs to be recalibrated, and the readings will change as the battery dies. cause of the problem; The manufacturer tried to save a few cents by doing away with the all-important voltage regulator. This device does not have an internal voltage regulator. When the battery voltage drops, the voltage across the sensor decreases, resulting in a decrease in the displayed vacuum. For example, I installed a new alkaline battery in my new device. When I turned on the VG60 gauge it read 5000 microns. I calibrated the Supco VG60 according to the instructions (good luck finding a jeweler's screwdriver among your tools). I then did a 10-hour air conditioner evacuation. At the end of the first hour, VGG0 showed 1500 microns. After 3 hours VG60 showed 700 microns. After 5 hours VG60 showed 1500 microns. After 8 hours VG60 showed 5000 microns. My yellow vest digital gauge read about 200 microns. I rebuilt and reinstalled the VG60 AGAIN. This time it reads 1000 microns while the yellow jacket still reads around 200 microns. If you do not leave this device on all the time, it may not calibrate (except for temperature changes). But for real use, if you need precision, take something else. The Supco VP60 vacuum gauge read 700 microns after 10 hours, while the Yellow Jacket read 200. I measured and found the 9 volt battery in the VP60. 7.8 volts displayed. I put in a new battery and turned on the VP60. At atmospheric pressure and with no hoses connected, the Supco VP60 reads 400 microns. You can't trust this thing.
