Review on Topeak Fuel Tank: Convenient Charging Cable Hole for On-the-Go Power! by Darrin Lucas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality product. It didn't work out the way I wanted. Works but in alternate position

(Please read full review) I was skeptical as to how this case would perform as advertised. It is exceptionally well made. Lots of space inside. There is a small pocket for keys. My smartphone hardly fits in. I would not recommend it for large smartphones. Velcro straps have been positioned just right. It has plenty of room for extra groceries, essentials and other items you would normally keep in jersey pockets. When I got it I mounted it on my road bike top tube and used velcro to secure it around the stem. When I first tried it, the first thing I did was get out of the saddle. It became apparent that the bag was interfering with the movement of my legs. More specifically, my quadriceps. When I was in the saddle, he would sometimes rub the insides of my quads. I ended up removing it and never using it again in that configuration. I decided to keep it for myself as I thought it might find another use e.g. B. on my mountain bike. After thinking for a few days, I had an idea. I figured it might fit a different orientation, on a different part of my bike. I was able to mount it under the down tube, behind the front wheel and in front of the bottom bracket. It has about an inch of clearance on the left and right cranks and sprockets. And about an inch from the front wheel. To keep it from sliding down, I attached it to the front water bottle holder. Since I installed it, it doesn't rub when I take the bottle out and put it in the cage. I recently tried it for the first time and it worked like a charm! No chafing, no intervention in components. The only downside is the availability. In this orientation, you cannot reach for anything out of your pocket. In addition, the zipper points downwards. This means you have to turn the bike over to unpack and access the contents. I decided to keep it for my long trips that require extra groceries and supplies. I hope this helps others who are having the same problems as me. I've decided to give five stars because I think I can put it to good use. Edit: I've made several trips with the bag in the above configuration. My experience was favorable. When I had hand warmers, I took it for a walk. I decided to take them off and put them in my Topeak bag. There was no need to flip the bike to access it. With minimal effort, I was able to tip the bag sideways, which was enough to unzip and drop the contents inside. I then put the bag back behind the front wheel and that helped. Works like clockwork. (Just remember to zip up).

Pros
  • Battery Travel smartphone charger
Cons
  • Some minor issues
