The best thing about this LED light is its dimmability. Works very well in indoor and outdoor lights. Not for wet or damp locations, but good in outdoor housing where the lamp doesn't get wet or moisture can build up inside the fixture. I have used them in our recessed lights in the kitchen as well as our decorative outdoor lights. Some of these outdoor lights have a 50 percent auto dimming mode, where the light reaches full brightness within a few minutes when motion is detected, but otherwise stays at 50 percent brightness after the time has been reset. The lights turn on and off automatically at sunrise/sunset. These lamps are perfect for this application. They also typically last longer than the spiral compact fluorescent bulbs I've used in the same fixtures in the past, and don't need to be recycled when they reach the end of their lumen output. Our local company, Lowe's, has even stopped accepting CF lamps for recycling, so now more of those CF lamps will simply end up in landfill. Try these lightbulbs. Even if they don't last as long as stated on the packaging. They are priced to justify their cost compared to CF lamps and they look better too.
