Very iffy on a letter opener to cut these out of my hair

I really purchased this as it had multiple tools to use for doing my hair. The topsy tail is fine. Love that there are 2 sizes. I like the rat tail comb. There are so many rubber bands this may last me until the end of time. My only problem is that they have repurposed a letter opener to cut the bands out of your hair. I think that it was not innovative but rather silly.
