Review on Crucial PC3 12800 SODIMM 204 Pin Memory by Benny Suazo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great performance, easy fit and best price.

Fits perfectly on my iMac (27" Late 2012). My iMac comes standard with 8GB and supports up to 32GB according to Apple's specs. Adding the Crucial 16GB (2x8GB) kit gave me a total of 24GB that I can see and feel when running multiple apps. I only recommend following the manufacturer's instructions for swapping and adding RAM. See the Apple support site for info. [.] . I included the steps as well, but the website has graphics 1 Turn off your computer by choosing Shut Down from the Apple menu 2 Disconnect the power cord and all other cables from the computer 3 Insert a soft, clean Towel or cloth on a table or other flat surface to avoid scratching the display.4 Hold the computer by its sides and slowly place the computer face down on the towel or cloth.5 Open the memory compartment door by pressing the small gray button facing straight above the power supply. port.6 The storage door will open when the button is pressed. Remove the compartment door and set it aside.7 Locate the two levers on the left and right of the storage compartment. Slide the two memory compartment levers outward to release the memory compartment.8 Once the memory compartment is free, pull the memory compartment levers toward you to reveal each DIMM slot.9 Remove the DIMM by pulling the module straight up and out . Note the position of the cutout on the bottom of the DIMM. When reinstalling DIMMs, the notch must be aligned correctly or the DIMM will not fully seat.10 Replace or install the DIMM by inserting it into the slot and pressing firmly until you feel the DIMM slide into the slot into place.11 After all DIMMs are installed, slide the memory bay levers back into the chassis until they click into place.12 Replace the memory bay door. When replacing a compartment door, you do not need to press the compartment door release button. Place your computer in an upright position. Reconnect the power cord and all other cables to the computer, and then start the computer.
