Review on πŸ’‘ Diamond White Metal Stents Headlight Bulbs - RCP D1S6 (A Pair) D1S/D1R 6000K Xenon HID Replacement Lamps - 35W by Alonzo Weaver

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Excellent lights - for 1 year. Then they die one by one. Buy another brand.

Vehicle: X5 E70 2009 Updated December 24, 2020 I gave these 5 stars after installing them a year ago because they worked great, were bright and clear. I couldn't be happier with them. One of them died last week. I thought anything could happen, especially in 2020, and ordered another pair as I liked them so much. However, another one died tonight, so it went from "Things can happen" to "These things must be badly made and now I know their lifespan, which sucks." The new ones haven't arrived yet and I'm 200 miles from too away from home so the only reasons I'm not completely screwed up are, 1) I kept the old weak bulbs and replaced one last week for the first victim; and 2) my X5 has excellent fog lights. I will return a new pair when they get here and buy a different brand. Original Review: Considering the price, I was skeptical that they would be as good as the other reviews said. I was wrong - and fortunately. The photos show my 2009 X5 in the middle of an update, the driver's side bulb is new and the passenger's side is original and the pictures don't do the difference justice. The car had about 140,000 miles at the time of purchase and I can bet they are real xenons. They were so bad I could barely tell when they were on and in fact I had to use the fog lights to drive at night until the new bulbs arrived. Replacing them was quite painful, but certainly doable - just be patient. The included thin gloves are a thoughtful addition to prevent your dirty hands from contaminating the lamps with dirt and oil which can destroy them. However, the gloves are pretty small, so if you have bear paws like me, you'll have a *new* pair of kitchen gloves or flimsy mechanic's gloves handy. The power cord doesn't have much slack and the plug can be plugged in the other way around if you're not careful. Luckily, both the plug and sockets on the bulbs are marked with small numbers so you can see which way is the right way. Pro tip: Use a marker pen to write on the (metal) side of the new bulb's body (NOT the glass!) if you forget which one it is or the bulb spins in your hand. what will. To be honest the hardest part was fitting the plastic dust cover in the engine compartment once the installation was complete. Even a new xenon was enough for me to drive without worrying about being unable to see at night. In both cases, the roadway is illuminated as if it were new. In fact, I almost never have to turn on the high beams, even on a dark road with no one for miles. yes they are that good I'm really impressed with them and would have no hesitation in recommending them.
