I've tried many cases and this one is pretty solid. All keypads work well, hold a pencil and aren't too heavy. The only downside is the extra curvature of the case, about 2 inches inside that which wraps around the front of the iPad. I haven't figured out how to use it yet, but it creates a weak point when lifting the iPad to the easel position. The front of the cover is a convenient place to store your phone or airport case. But when you pick it up to take it somewhere else, the lid flexes down, making it unstable and dropping things in the process. Otherwise I would give him all 5 points.
