At first I wasn't too sure about this duvet. It's only "cool" where you don't touch it, but wow, it's icy there and it cools down quickly if you manage to warm it to body temperature. Although it won't protect you from overheating at night, it will help you cool down quickly if you do. A bit disappointed that it wasn't the answer to my night sweats, I left it on the bed anyway. I found myself reaching for it to snuggle against and I love its soft yet light feel and how cool it felt. The hot nights still kept me warm, but this blanket helped me cool down again. I then decided as it didn't match my other bedding to leave it on the bed as I washed all the sheets and stuff. What a mistake, I had to get up in the middle of the night to look for my 'blanket', apparently my sleeping self liked it more than I thought. While it's no wonder, I don't want to sleep without it now. I'm not sure if that's for or against. I mean, I'm a grown woman in my 40's who now has to sleep with her own blanket. sigh.
