I've used it on 200 square feet of flooring so far with no problems. I only hammered 3 nails, two of which were the first two nails I hammered with a gun. I have some experience with cheaper wood floor guns. While they don't cut into wood very often in my experience, they do tend to jam, forcing you to stop the work, unholster your gun and clean it. I am very happy with my purchase and plan to sell the used shotgun when I have completed the other 300 square feet that I need to install. The resale value of this nail gun is very high, making it cheaper to buy and then rent. I didn't have a single jam in the gun and just had to rip out a couple of boards due to misfires, and all of this was most likely my fault. I was also able to work on my project for a month, which I would never have done if I rented a gun. I plan on renting out my shotgun to two friends so they can put the tree up in their homes and then sell it second hand. I can even recoup all my expenses. Update 2. Started my second project, about 500 square feet of flooring at my friends house. He misfired a lot more than I did, but I didn't fire the pistol. I don't think he hit hard enough. We also had our first jam. The gun was relatively easy to disassemble, taking apart with just 3 hex head screws. So in total he shot about 2500 nails, there were about 50 misfires (of which 90% were caused by the user) and one jam. Not bad I think.
