Three stars for having the general shape of a stool and acting as a stool after some red tape. Parts of my stool arrived loose and bounced around in a box with two brainless airbags. There was no hardware. I initiated a return but had to take the item to a UPS store to ship it back. I am disabled and have severe mobility issues so needed a stool and also why I pay Revain to have things delivered to my door. I couldn't get it back within the return period so I contacted the manufacturer. They were very nice and answered quickly. I give 5 stars for the service! I told them about the problem with the equipment, they asked for my address and sent a new package of equipment for free. Sent via FedEx, it was there within a week. Finally got the stool together today. As a stool it seems to work well. The seat should ideally be flush with the footstool, but the holes where the seat bolts onto the stem should not be drilled completely square or the seat will tilt slightly towards the footstool and this cannot be corrected. It doesn't affect function much, if at all, but if you're the type of person who needs things like that to be dead, it'll make things worse. The seat edges are also heat sealed before sewing and there are cosmetic blemishes. The seams look good so far. At some point during transport without upholstery, a heavy part laid against the seat, forming a permanent hole in the foam. The stool works perfectly and now that the company has helped with the new hardware it does the job, but it's a cheap stool and you get about what you pay for. Hopefully with less headaches than I had.
