If you don't mind picking them up off the floor every time you need to set a workpiece in a vise, these jaw protectors are for you. The two weak magnets barely make contact with the vise, they're all too happy to slide, tip and fall unless they're actively grabbing something between the vise's jaws. The rubber surface goes into channels on the aluminum surface, attached with double sided foam tape which I believe dissolves shortly after application. This rubber surface can be "hacked" to make it more useful by drilling shallow holes and adding more magnets. Also sand the aluminum surface behind the rubber strip to help the glue stick to the surface and stick the rubber strip onto the sponges.
