Needed to protect certain projects from being damaged by the "teeth" of my vise jaw. My vise is 4 3/4" which means it extends past the ends but also allows me to move it from side to side as needed. I need protection, I just put them on and the magnets hold they stay in place and they're just as easy to remove when you need the "teeth" of the jaws for extra grip.
