Review on X-Acto X7761 Self-Healing Cutting Measuring Tool by Doris Tran

Makes inaccurate cuts, "cure " is over the top, smells bad

What a disappointing poor quality rug! Comes with a strong plastic odor guaranteeing a CA cancer/reproductive alert. Not for Precision Cuts: The top layer of plastic knocks my knives off the rails and makes it exceedingly difficult to cut straight into an accurate ruler; even where the previous lines do not yet intersect. Don't go for paper art. It also doesn't seem to extend the life of a thin scalpel blade. The grid lines are thick, they don't even line up in some places, there is no clear grid and as such it's almost useless. Not for home artists: the matte finish is too difficult to use for handwritten indenting; too rough to be easily cleaned of clay or putty; too easily damaged to be used with rough tools in the workshop. Not Durable: The top layer is permanently damaged by cuts after a small project. Bends after being stored on an uneven surface for two days and cannot easily lie flat again. I suspect it will break if bent severely, possibly caused by irritation from this product. A piece of cardboard will also hold. pluses? It is unlikely to be cut through; the surface was water-repellent, at least until the first cut. Again, the same applies to high-quality cardboard. Look elsewhere for a rug you really enjoy working with, even for less money.
