As the oldest in my family, and after struggling to find out more about our heritage, I wrote my own biography and gave it to my kids for Christmas so that they would have something personal about me after I'm gone. Along with a printed copy of my autobiography, I also included one of these journals and a nice pen so that they can start writing their own story for their kids. I think every parent should do this for their kids and start a tradition in your family.
