Review on Silverstone Motherboard Mounting Micro ATX RV05B by Chris Benton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I love the 90 degree motherboard design and the thoughtful use of space. I wish the case was a bit bigger and thicker

I really like this case but compared to my old RV03 it falls short in both size and build quality. It has good cable management and is very compact, but be careful when choosing your power supply and graphics card. To maximize efficiency, you want a graphics card that dissipates all heat, typically in a reference design. You should also make sure your PSU is less than 160mm long, otherwise you will not be able to use the 3.5" drive bay. The case feels very fragile and thin compared to other cases in this price range (Antec P280). The PSU is 1050W, which means I had to give up the 3.5" drive bay and use an old 2.5" laptop drive until I could buy a larger SSD. Cable management was excellent and with a 550-650w PSU and an M-ATX motherboard I think this would be quite a treat for a gamer/overclocker. I've posted an unboxing video on YouTube if you want to see how it looks with a full size ATX board installed.
