My 12 year old calico has recurring UTIs that affect her nutrition and digestion; so she decreases. Last year I tried shredded paper. As long as it worked, finding urine wasn't very pleasant. Kit4kat is a great idea although the litter boxes are too small for even my little kitty to pee. I'm not sure, but part of her problem is that she left it on for too long, so after a few hours with a sachet in the bowl, I threw out the filler and replaced it with regular filler until I could try again. Next time I'll put 2 of the 3 small filler bags in the box. It took several hours for my cat to walk past the crate and "look" at me or sniff at me, or climb into the crate and then come out again. But in the end she did her job. Anywhere between 3 and 5 p.m. As I'm sure I'll need to sample at some point in the future, I ordered a 2lb bag. Maybe more is better. The pipettes in the kit are easy to use and the vials should be sufficient for a veterinary exam. Thank you for providing kitten parents with a method to keep their fluffy babies healthy.
