This makes my water taste better and less thick, but mine is halved almost immediately. Washed, boiled for ten minutes and left to dry according to the instructions. Then I put it in a carafe, filled it with water and let it steep. I drank two glasses, refilled the carafe and put it in the fridge. The next time I opened the door, the stick lay in two pathetic pieces at the bottom of the carafe. Apart from losing aesthetics (now I only have two dark parts below) this takes up a lot of area as they are next to each other and along the glass. I'm disappointed.
