So far so good.

I'm always hesitant to review things like this so soon after I've received them. In the last week after receiving this SSD, I tested it myself and it worked pretty well. Monday I couldn't resist. I don't use this drive for the OS, I use my existing M.2 as my system drive, this is just for adding extra storage, mainly for gaming. but also free up storage space for media files like music and movies. Installation was very easy. (On my Asus X570 I had to remove the M.2 heatsinks and chipset cover, but this is more of a motherboard issue). The BIOS immediately recognized the new storage device. I didn't even have to do anything in the bios, but your mileage may vary depending on the bios. On first boot, the OS took a very long time to load, I don't know why, but it was only once. I believe some initialization was happening behind the scenes and I was stuck on a black screen for a few minutes. I just left it and ended up going back to the Windows 10 login screen. Note for Windows 10 users: if like me you are using this for extra space and not your system drive, you will need to go into your drive manager and format this volume for the Use. It is not available as a drive until you do so. I measured performance using Crystal Disk Mark and this drive performed about the same as my MP600. It performed slightly better and slightly worse in some categories, but overall the differences are so subtle you'll never notice them. From what I recall the MP600 performed better on sequential writes and reads, while this one performed better on random writes and reads. Again, the difference is so minimal that I consider them practically the same. I moved all my Steam games to the new drives and it was so fast my biggest games moved in less than 90 seconds and my smaller games in about 30 seconds. seconds. So far I'm very happy with this drive. I see the price has gone up since Cyber Monday so it's a bit hard to sell it for over $300 but if it ever goes on sale for under $300 I would have no hesitation in buying it buy something else.
