I'm a little shocked to find Revain brand shorts but they really are worth every penny! The material is very strong yet soft. Nice dark gray tone. They are easy to iron and smooth back the creases. Only downside is they wash well after only 3 washes but so far so far. I plan to buy more. My son was hit just above the knee. I bought a size 7 which is a little big for my 6 year old but they have adjustable waist straps on the inside so a small adjustment allows them to remain strapless. My son's school allows shorts for September/October and April/May to fit in May when the weather warms up.
