Great item. The ideal stone for planing steel at terrifyingly high speeds. I cleaned a pretty nasty chipped blade (photo attached) in less than ten minutes. It cuts through steel so quickly that you really have to be careful what you do. With a few strokes you can create a completely new bevel. I can't believe how well this thing works. Actually I can not believe that there is an extra extra course. I can only assume it just melts steel on contact. This is my first experience with DMT stone after collecting some traditional Japanese wet stones for a long time. Seeing how effective this thing is and how easy and painless it is to prepare and clean up in comparison, I will invest in other DMT products in the future. I can't stress enough how awesome this is. If you're looking for a stone that will cut steel to a finer edge, you've just found what you're looking for.
