I followed the directions and charged in direct sunlight for several days. During the day the camera worked, once night fell the camera said it needed to be charged. I bought these because of the price compared to the actual Arlo branded devices, but ended up wasting time returning all 9 devices. Another issue I've had with these devices is that the Arlo software shows they're plugged in because you have to remove the Arlo's battery, which doesn't give you a low battery indicator. In addition, the Arlo software increases the camera's power consumption depending on whether the camera is plugged in or the battery is dead.
