Review on GE Profile PEM31SFSS Countertop Microwave: Stylish and Efficient Kitchen Appliance by Chris Cruz

UPDATE 4/2021: I finally bought this brand/style after returning a scratched unit I ordered in 2018 because it is the only one that fits my space. So far everything is fine, except for the ticking during operation. Not the typical clicks and pops that a microwave oven makes during operation, but a constant ticking. It's also fairly cheaply made - as evidenced by the difficulty in pressing the button when opening and closing the door - and the door makes such a loud noise when closing. If your space allows, look elsewhere. It's too expensive for the poor quality. I ordered this to replace my current GE microwave. I want to share a photo of the GE Spacemaker I'm replacing so you can see that peeling paint on the inside of GE microwave ovens is a real problem. I didn't notice this right away, so it's impossible to tell how much paint I ate. Many other reviewers had the same issue with GE microwaves. Unfortunately, GE makes the only microwave that fits perfectly in a 24-inch cabinet opening, so I was willing to give it another try. But unfortunately this device has a scratch, so it is going back.
