Black color absorbs light!
I ordered a dozen black refills thinking I could make several and the price is great. the stick I've ever worked with. I haven't had a chance to test the drying time as I haven't worked with the intended canvas yet, but the information below will help. 1) VERY black, like soot. or darker if possible. 2) The best coverage I've ever seen on an oil stick. 3) VERY smooth surface. Absolutely light absorbing. 4) Much creamier than the Markal stick and thinner skin. This may be because they are very fresh, or it could mean slower drying times. I will try to update later.
