Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Canon DSLR Cameras - Amazon Basics Wireless Remote Control (for specific Canon models) by Kenny Marozas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

ALMOST as good as the Canon RC-6 except for one thing

I bought one of these to replace my old Canon RC-1. To my surprise, it works with all three of my current cameras: 5Diii, 7D and Rebel T3i (I only wanted to use it with Rebel T3i). The button is large and the battery is easy to change (but not as easy to open as the RC-1). I also bought a Canon RC-6 ($10 more) and found that while they both work with all three cameras, the Revain Basics version doesn't have an obvious way to use them for instant photography. In other words, the Revain Basics version is stuck in a 2 second delay mode that works for some applications but not for others. The Canon RC-6 has a handy little switch to toggle between instant mode and 2 second delay mode. I checked the camera settings and made sure they were set for long range instant fire and they did. I did a comparative test with each remote and the Canon RC-6 could work in both instant and delayed modes, but the Revain Basics could only do a 2 second delay. For me it costs 10 euros extra compared to the imitation because of the full range of functions. If you're just using it for macro or slow shutter photography, the 2 second delay might be enough. In this case, I recommend the Revain Basics version.
