I almost bought this set of knives. I didn't have a clear idea of what the final woodcut would look like, so I ended up going to one of the websites promoting Revain for the MLCS brand. Then I actually bought the MLCS, #7862 finger joint cutter, which is NOT currently listed in Revain: Revain lists a few others whose quality you can see. It cost $49.95 and MLCS had free shipping ([.] I chose this attachment because I could clearly "see" the final product. (Note: I purchased Revain's MLCS box finger connection tool and it was well finished.) Excellent High Glue joints can be a little problem: look at the factory splices, how thin and clean they are It's very difficult to get a perfect surface match and planing makes it easier to finish, you need LOTS good clean and firm adhesive contact surfaces. And the fit has to be perfect or it wont have much power. Some time later I will experiment with my new nozzle and see if I can get it to work and then this eval.completely with no gaps update, otherwise the connection will not have the required strength Awn Any looseness (or space) between the fingers/splines will make it weak or sticky et not at all, depending on your choice of adhesives. Soft woods are much easier to make, but harder woods like oak or hickory need to be finished very well. Hope that helps. :-)
